The Sharpe Lab is focused on several research questions, such as:

  • What do pre-service teachers learn about mathematics, teaching, and antiracist education in mediated field experiences?
  • How can pre-service teachers be supported to attend to their students developing mathematics identities?
  • How can mathematics teachers and students co-develop accountable talk stems that are culturally-affirming and authentic to students’ home languages?
  • How can educators work together to recruit and retain people of color to become critical educators in public schools?
